A If you look at the budget worksheet, this type of revenue is included under account 5900, Other Revenue, says Bramlet. It is considered nonrental income. You can find how HUD looks at various types of income in Chapter 7 of Handbook 4350.1, which is often referred to as the project-servicing handbook. If your project gets budget-based rent increases, receipt of this nonrental income will reduce the amount of rent the owner is approved to collect through the rental units.
